SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAININGVolunteers at St. Michael’s Parish who are involved in any Parish activity that entrusts the care, responsibility, or supervision of children or vulnerable adults is REQUIRED by the Diocese to take a Safe Environment Training. For further information regarding this training, please contact Diane at 941-349-4174 in the Parish Office. JOIN THE PRAYERLINE MINISTRYThe Prayerline Ministry is in need of members who will pass along prayer requests. The number of phone calls varies with the time of year but usually it is approximately 6 calls per week. If you would be interested in joining this ministry, please call Juanita at 921-2034. PRAYER SHAWLSPick up a “Prayer Shawl”, (in the Parish Office) which has been blessed by a priest, and offer it to someone who may be suffering. Prayer Shawls are free but donations to purchase yarn are accepted. PRAY FOR OUR TROOPSIf you have a family member serving overseas, call the Parish Office (349-4174) and we will publish their names in the bulletin to remind everyone to ask for God’s blessings on them. Please let the Parish Office know when they return safely home, so that we may also rejoice with you and remove their name from this list. BABIES' AND CHILDREN'S GARDENThis garden is located in the rear parking area by the grotto and is a place for remembering babies and young children who have lost their lives for many different reasons. Bricks, engraved in memory of a child, are available to purchase for $100 per brick. Order forms are available in the Parish Office. |
GOING IN THE HOSPITAL?Our Eucharistic Ministers visit Sarasota Memorial Hospital on Tuesdays. Call the Parish Office if you would like someone to visit and/or bring communion to you while you are in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. If you would like to see a priest, both hospitals have a Catholic Priest that will visit you. Please inform the hospital that you would like to see a priest. HOMEBOUND?Do you know of someone who is homebound and would like to have communion brought to them? If possible, please have THEM CALL the Parish Office (349-4174) and arrangements can be made. |
